Originally from Leeds, Andy Wood joined Monster Radio eight years ago with no previous radio or DJ experience - just a passion for great music. He quickly found his place behind the mic and now presents the Classic Rock Show every Wednesday from 7pm to 10pm.
Andy’s show is built for rock fans, with a playlist that runs from the 1960s right through to the present day. Expect big riffs, classic anthems and the bands that defined generations, including Def Leppard, Gary Moore, Mark Knopfler, Queen, Thin Lizzy, Yes, Genesis and Deep Purple.
Calm, informed and relaxed on air, Andy enjoys one thing above all else: playing music he genuinely loves and sharing it with listeners who feel the same way.
Away from the studio, he has one major milestone to celebrate - retirement this year. And when it comes to a track guaranteed to lift the mood, Andy goes straight for “Don’t Stop Me Now” by Queen.
