Peter D Cardigan
Meet our dedicated team members and their unique stories.

Born in Kent and raised in Wolverhampton, Peter D Cardigan brings an animated, satirical and sometimes delightfully Marmite-style energy to Monster Radio.
Peter’s radio journey began with a friend on Wolverhampton Community Radio, where they hosted a late-night show and borrowed the latest drum and bass vinyl from Ruby Red Records. That early love of alternative sounds still shapes his shows today.
Catch Peter on the Footy Fan Show every Saturday from 3pm to 5.30pm, where he combines great music, personality and the kind of radio that keeps listeners entertained from start to finish.
His musical taste is eclectic, varied and generally upbeat. Early influences included The Police, David Bowie and Depeche Mode, followed by the energy of The Prodigy and the drum and bass and breakbeat scene. Jamiroquai has long been a favourite too, while later discoveries such as Stereophonics, Travis, The Killers and Muse have all earned a place in his musical world.
For Peter, radio is all about the theatre of the mind — creating something memorable with music, imagination and a bit of storytelling. He enjoys planning and writing shows, hearing the finished result come together, and knowing that listeners are enjoying what he creates. Being part of Monster Radio, he says, also means being part of the community.
Away from the studio, Peter married his wife Gabbi on the beach in Puerto del Carmen, with the best men in board shorts, the ladies in bikinis and beach dresses, and Gabbi carrying a beautiful shell instead of flowers. He also speaks Spanish with a thick Black Country accent.
His feel-good track is “Hot Tequila Brown” by Jamiroquai.
Tune in to Peter D Cardigan for upbeat music, sharp humour and radio with plenty of imagination.
