Steve Wells
Meet our dedicated team members and their unique stories.
Hailing from Barking, Essex, Steve Wells brings a lifetime of music passion to Monster Radio. His love of DJing began early, spinning records on twin decks from 1968 to 1974, and the spark never left him.
After moving to Lanzarote in 2018, Steve brought his experience, personality and deep appreciation for great songs to the airwaves. He now hosts Lunchtime Classics and the Trina Show, bringing listeners a weekday soundtrack packed with memorable hits and feel-good favourites.
Steve’s musical heart belongs to chart pop, with a particular soft spot for the timeless sound of Tamla Motown. Influenced by legendary broadcaster Tony Blackburn, he combines an enthusiastic, emotional and flexible on-air style with a genuine love of connecting with listeners.
For Steve, radio is all about interaction: sharing music, creating moments and keeping the audience company throughout the day. One of his proudest broadcasting memories is completing a 24-hour non-stop marathon radio show in aid of Macmillan and charity fundraising, raising around £8,000.
