Stephen Lavender
Meet our dedicated team members and their unique stories.
Originally from Folkestone, Kent, Stephen Lavender brings a fun, energetic and slightly different flavour to Monster Radio.
Stephen first became a familiar voice on the station as a guest on the Footy Fan Show, later appearing with Jono before being encouraged to take the leap into hosting his own programme. Now he presents The Late Show every Thursday from 9pm until late, as well as stepping in to cover weekend shows for fellow presenters.
His music taste stretches from the 1970s right up to today, with a mix of rock, pop and club classics. Influenced by artists including Simple Minds, U2 and Guns N’ Roses, Stephen enjoys keeping the playlist varied and the atmosphere lively.
Fun, crazy and different, Stephen loves entertaining listeners and making them laugh. Off air, he is happily settled in Lanzarote after spending 28 years as a driving instructor in the UK - a move that let him slow down, enjoy life and make the most of island living.
Stephen’s rule for a good-mood song is simple: anything upbeat.
